Residential State Supplement Program (RSS)
The Residential State Supplement Program (RSS) is a state-funded, cash assistance program. RSS provides a monetary supplement to low-income adults with disabilities who do not require nursing home care. The cash supplement, in combination with the person’s monthly income, assists in paying for room and board in an approved living arrangement.
Eligibility Requirement
- Adults, age 18 or older, who are aged, blind, disabled
- Financially eligible for Medicaid
- Willing to reside in a certified adult foster home, a licensed adult family home, group home, community alternative home, mental residential facility, or residential care facility
- Person requires less than 120 days of skilled services
Services Provided
- Monthly supplement for room, board, and services at the licensed or certified home which may include housekeeping, laundry, transportation, security, social and recreational activities
- Monthly personal needs allowance
- Medicaid health care coverage
- Care Management services from a registered nurse or licensed social worker
